Private by architecture, not by promise

Notes are encrypted on your device with a key the server never has. What the server stores is opaque ciphertext — it cannot read, index, or mine your notes, because it physically can't. Privacy policies can change; this design can't be talked out of.

Fast because it's local-first

Every client keeps a complete local copy, so writing never waits on a network. Edit on your laptop, your phone, and the command line — concurrent changes merge automatically, without conflict prompts.

Deliberately spare

An editor, a command palette, and a search overlay. No sidebar, no toolbar, no menu bar. Notes are flat — tags come from #tags you type in the body, so there's nothing to file and nothing to reorganize later.

Held to it by tests

One of Notere's tests dumps every server-side table and greps it for note content. If a single word of plaintext ever reaches the server, the build fails. That's how we treat all of Notere's guarantees: not as intentions, but as invariants the code can't ship without.

Early access

Notere is in early access. If you want in, send us a note — tell us how you take notes today, and we'll set you up.
